Far far away

Just now I got the message, that my Mustang is still in Oakland, CA, waiting for another car to arrive so they can be shipped at the same time. But both should be here in Constance in Mai. I'd rather love to be there, too.
But meanwhile I took a lesson in car repairing or at least to get some knowledge about the technique and what to do, if the car breaks down.

I've got it!!!

My dealer made the deal complete! So we got that white Mustang with golden stripes. He also bought another motor and a lot of other parts.
Now I'm curious about the color. The painting should be good for US circumstances. Maybe I can spare some money at that point and use it for other stuff.

First view

Today I got first pictures of a car that could be the one. But at the moment the owner still wants too much for it.

You got to choose a lot

The first thing you choose is the brand and the type of car. That's easy. But after that there are so many options you need to choose. I wish I had a configurator like the modern websites of the car manufacturers. So I could see how the things fit and if I like the look.
Most people asked me what color it will be. I'm still not sure. Either simply raven black or  royal maroon. But even if I chose the base color there is still the option to have stripes across the hood and roof or stripes at the sides.
And to make the dilemma perfect: now I have to choose the wheels and tires, because even the tires can have white or red stripes. Therefore it would be good to know the color of the car.

But there is also one good news: the project starts one month earlier than expected. Hopefully I can purchase the car between the end of February and beginning of March.

Ready for takeoff

I'm starting this blog, because I have decided to buy an old Mustang. And since the moment of the decision I have been talking a lot about that car with everyone and everyone to whom I talked is curious how things work out.
So this blog is for everyone who is curious about my project and also for my self as a kind of dairy.

The first idea pop into my head last year when my financial consultant ask me why I don't use a classic car as a financial investment. She knew that I like cars and I had shown her some cool Mustangs before. And she was right. It really is a good idea. So I started to collect infos about Mustangs, surfed the Internet, bought books and I'm still learning a lot.
Just last week I decided to get an 68er instead of an 66er, which was my first choice. But last Saturday I had my first ride with a 68er Fastback. It was so awesome!! I can't tell.

I can't wait to get my own. But the plan is to buy it in March or April. Then it takes some time until it'll be shipped overseas. And then the really exciting part begins: restoration.

So stay tuned. I'll come up with the latest news as soon as there are some.
